Nginx SSL handshake failed

Symptom

SSL handshake fails with error messages in the logs.

Client connections are unable to establish secure sessions.

Cause

Incorrect SSL certificate configuration is present.

The certificate file path is incorrect or the certificate is expired.

Solution

Update the SSL certificate configuration with the correct file path.

Ensure the certificate is valid and not expired.

Verify

Check the Nginx configuration for SSL settings.

Verify that the correct certificate and key files are specified.

Expected result:

Secure connections are established without errors.

SSL handshake completes successfully, allowing client connections.

Notes

Ensure that the certificate chain is complete.

Verify that the server is using a supported SSL/TLS version.
